ABOUT US
RG.PoliTo Glide Team è composto da studenti del Politecnico di Torino, con diversi profili, corsi di studio e competenze.
Obiettivo primo del progetto è lo sviluppo di una linea di tavole da snowboard freeride e non solo, innovative ed ambientalmente sostenibili in termini di materiali e di tecnologie.
Si vuole promuovere la competizione studentesca tra università, sia dal punto di vista sportivo che tecnologico, come motore per lo sviluppo di processi produttivi in armonia con una rinnovata attenzione per l’ambiente.
Guglielmo Marchesa
Born in Turin, but with a Palermitan spirit given by the long period spent in the Sicilian capital, he graduated in the three-year course of Materials Science and Engineering in 2018 at the Polytechnic University of Turin and is currently attending the master's course of the same course of studies. His great passion for boards led him to build a snowboard as part of his university career. This gave rise to the desire to start a student team to optimize the prototype technology and improve its features.
He mainly deals with the selection and optimization of materials.
Federica Gramaglia
Federica Gramaglia, born in Carmagnola in the province of Turin, she graduated in the three-year course in Materials Engineering in 2017 at the Polytechnic University of Turin and is currently completing the master's course in the same field of studies. She deals with the selection, characterization and optimization of materials, making use of his organizational skills
Sofia Borgato
Sofia Borgato, born in Biella, she has a bachelor degree in Physical Engineering and is currently attending the master degree courses in Data Science and Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Turin. Within the team she deals with Computational Fluid Dynamic numerical analysis.
Tommaso Gerosa
Tommaso Gerosa, born in Moncalieri in the province of Turin, attends the third year of studies at the Faculty of Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Turin. Making use of his graphic skills he mainly covers the role of designer and takes care of all the artistic, communication and presentation part of the team's projects
Tessa Beimer
Tessa Beimer born in Cuneo on 1998, she's attending the third year of Materials Engineering at the Polytechnic of Turin.
Mountain and snowboard lover, she join the team during October 2019 to study performing and environmentally sustainable materials
Ettore Lupica
Ettore Lupica, born in Turin in the 10/10/1998, he’s been attending Politecnico di Torino since 2016, in bachelor degree courses of Materials Engineering and joined the team on April 2019. His work his based on finding eco sustainable alternatives to petrol based resins.
Filippo Albert
Filippo Albert, born in Turin, he is attending the bachelor degree course in Engineering for the Environment and the Territory at the Polytechnic University of Turin. A great lover of the mountains since he was a child, he is following the path to become a snowboard mountaineering instructor. Within the team he deals dealing with the simulation of the snowpack and events organization.
Luigi Bramato
Luigi Bramato, born in Gagliano del capo in the province of Lecce, he is a mechanical expert who grew up in a workshop and he is currently attending the Mechanical Engineering bachelor degree courses. He is in charge of the design and construction of test benches for table static and dynamic characterization.
Luca Crevola
Born in Casale Monferrato, majoring in Mechanical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Turin, he grew up with the passion for the mountain and for sports related to it. He deals with the mechanical characterization of the materials that will constitute the core of the table.
Kavinda Herath
Kavinda Herath, born in Sri Lanka in 1996/06/29. He is attending the bachelor degree course in Mechanical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Turin.
In the team he is in charge with research on natural fibers
Federico Baronetti
Federico Baronetti, born in Nice and growing up in Imperia, graduated in the three-year course in Physical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Turin in 2018. Since he was a boy he had a certain passion for table sports, finding a safe place in the team where he could concentrate his skills. Currently enrolled in the Master's Degree in Mathematical Engineering, in addition to photography, he deals with numerical CFD models.
Dario Scaglione
Dario Scaglione, Born in Palermo in 1998, he’s been attending the Polytechnic of Turin since 2016, he is attending materials engineering and joined the team on November 2019. He is one of the member of area provini with the goal of samples realization.
Raffaella Sesana
Raffaella Sesana, research assistant in Mechanical Engineering in Politecnico di Torino.
Skills on static and fatigue behaviour of materials, experimental testing and characterisation, interest in recycling and reusing of components, green issues are her main contributions to Team's activity
Daniela Maffiodo
Daniela Maffiodo, research assistant in Mechanical Engineering in Politecnico di Torino.
Her contribution to the Team is related to her expertise on applied mechanics, robotics and biomechanical engineering.
Roberto Maiorano
Roberto Maiorano, industrial team tutor, a firm believer in the need for interaction between industry and universities, he is the owner of a company that produces prototypes for the automotive sector, aeronautical parts and molds and equipment. His contribution in the team is his experience in the field of feasibility analysis and industrial production processes.
Roberto Petretto
Riccardo Petretto, born in Sassari in 18/09/1997, he's been attending Politecnico di Torino since 2016, he is attending materials engineering and joined the team on November 2019. He is a member of area provini, whose goal is the realization and test of samples.
Ludovica Barabino
Ludovica Barabino born in Genoa on 06/02/1998, recently got a Bachelor degree in Science of Materials in Genoa. Driven by her desire to get involved and to put what she learned into practice, she moved to Turin in order to attend the Master in Materials Engineering, but above all to be part of a team that could combine two of her great passions: "green" materials" and sport.
Marilù Petrone
Marilù Petrone, born in Foggia in 06/12/1997, she's been attending Politecnico di Torino since 2016, she is attending materials engineering and joined the team on November 2019. She is a member of area provini, whose goal is the realization and test of samples.
Matteo Garbi
After a youth dedicated to the three S (skateboard, snowboard and surf) and to the study of Graphic design at the Polytechnic University of Turin, he opened a club oriented towards electronic music and then he began his Master's Degree in Systemic Design a few years later. Despite having abandoned competitions, he continues to love snow, design and everything that brings together these two passions.
